The Children's Version

CHILDREN IN BETWEEN – CHILDREN’S VERSION (formerly known as Children in the Middle)

The award winning Children in Between program (formerly Children in the Middle) also comes in a version for children. This version is provided in a traditional class format and uses video and workbooks to help children process the transition their families are experiencing.

This class contains sections on:

• Why parents divorce

• Explore children’s feelings and fears, myths and truths, and

• Explore coping skills, specifically how to get out of the middle of their parent’s conflict; how to ask for help; using self talk; changing thought patterns, and much more.

The Children’s Version Starter Kit Includes:

  1. The Children in Between: Teacher’s and Counselor’s Manual to help lead the kid’s through the class.

  2. A DVD that depicts various scenarios appropriate for children and small group or one-on-one discussions; and

  3. Booklets: Surviving Divorce: A Student’s Companion developed for school age children (ages 9 to 14). Includes numerous thinking and writing exercises as well as valuable information to help support their transition. Booklet keyed to the Children in Between: Teachers’ and Counselors’ Manual.

  4. Booklets: Family Circus developed for children ages 3-8, with cartoons, puppet show and activities appropriate for this age group. This booklet was adapted from the Student’s Companion booklet (for older children) and is also keyed to the Children in Between: Teacher’s and Counselor’s Manual.
